Teacher Learning Guiding Principles

To create schools where all students belong and have agency in their learning, educators must work and learn differently. This framework identifies what teachers and leaders should do to grow collective efficacy for more equitable experiences and outcomes.

We believe students thrive in classrooms where all learners belong, take ownership of their ideas and thinking, and have agency in how they learn. We strive for classrooms where all students engage in grade-level content and high-quality curricula with appropriate support.

Creating these classrooms and schools requires adults to work and learn differently — and teachers improve more for their students in cultures of collective efficacy. It is in these cultures that schools can address inequities and work toward more equitable outcomes.
